The business plan produced by Ferrania Technologies S.p.A. comprises the following principles:
- Rationalisation and improvement of the current business operations
- Introduction of new activities developed from new technologies coming from the Company and/or from external
entities (Technology Platform)
- Opportunities of new activities linked to the surrounding regional location.
In particular, the business plan comprises:
New area planning scheme, comprising new logistics constructions (infrastructure) such as connecting road,
motorway and/or highway, and railway, and urban restructuring plan comprising the recovery and reconstruction
of buildings, with change of usage for public and private activities outside of Ferrania.
Conventional activities (Medical, Fine Chemicals, PhotoColor, and Ink-Jet)
Increase production with an optimisation of the existing processes and the introduction of new equipment
to expand the present activities.
In the Medical field, the main development focus is:
- Management Data Systems for hospitals and associated institutions
- Image Management Systems (PACS and RIS) for hospitals and associated institutions
- Digital Radiography Systems
- New diagnostic systems
Fine Chemicals is working on increasing its current product portfolio and the areas of application, with
the goal of attracting business from new external market opportunities.
The development of the Ink-Jet business and of other digital solutions, will compensate for the possible
reduction of the PhotoColor business
Technology Platform for the generation of products and/or markets having a technological and innovative
value directed to:
- Development of new proprietary technologies and applications
- Introduction of activities of applied research in line with the company competencies, but utilising new
innovative technologies
- Encouraging the establishment of new companies with synergy for new innovative technologies

Power supply
The plan is to start in alliance with power supply operators, includes the construction of power plants,
commercial prototypes to internally develop techniques and process technologies, and actual applications
in the field of diffuse power.
