Description
OptiJet CS Clear Film has been designed for producing colour separations,
halftone images, line work, slides, by using Ink Jet printers and plotters.
The OptiJet CS Clear Film has been formulated in the Ferrania Technologies, based on a
proprietary formulation of the receptor layer applied to a 4 mil PET clear film base with
optimum dimensional stability.
Film receptor layer is based on nanoporous technology that is optimised to result in optimum
inks absorption and to be able to deliver the required high density black when used with OEM
inks as well as to ensure a good control of the dot spread.
OptiJet CS Clear Film is the milestones for ‘Plotter to Film System’ in order to have the total
control of the digital workflow in pre-press job.
Applications
OptiJet CS Clear Film is ideal to make quality colour separations for screen
printing and ‘offset’ applications up to a max of 180 lpi halftones by using AM screening and
to produce good quality colour separations by using FM screening (Free Spot technology).
This technology allows to increase separations production speed.
OptiJet CS Clear Film can be used for halftone colour images and back light display.
Key Features
Compatible with thermal
and piezo plotters
Compatible with pigmented and dye-based inks, best results with pigmented inks UltraChrome K3 Epson
High density of black
Sharp details
Fast drying time
Water resistance
Dmin Vis < 0.05, Dmin UV < 0.10
Dmax Vis > 3.5
Dmax UV > 3.0
Dmax values may change depending on specific OEM inks characteristics.
Physical Properties
Matt surface to prevent sticking and to ensure good vacuum and copying
Excellent film dimensional stability
Excellent drying characteristics
Water resistance
Good flatness in different environmental operative conditions
Static protection to prevent dust accumulation
Film advantages in ‘Plotter to Film System’
Large and small format ink-jet printing
Easy handling, no chemical processing
Friendly daylight operation
Image quality consistency avoiding wet processing
Direct digital output on film
Low operating costs
Compatibility with Plotters and Plotter Settings
Image quality may depend on plotter settings, file type, image content and
ink characteristics. CS Clear Film used with ‘Plotter to Film System’ works perfectly for
screen ruling up to 180 lpi and for offset applications by using FM screening (Free Spot Technology).
A suitable RIP for colour separations is required for screening applications (ex: Ferrania
OptiJetRIP, Onyx 6.0, ColorGate Screen&Print, Ergosoft PosterPrint, PosterShop RIP, Wasatch SoftRIP.
Best results obtained with Epson Plotter 4800/7800/9800.
